Having already been one of the regular activities organized in showroom, environmental education is supposed to be carried out twice per month and it takes two and a half hours at a time. Primary school students are invited firstly to visit environmental showcase area, intending to provide them with deeper understanding on today’s environmental resources. The pupils are also encouraged to experience Eco Action Stage, the unique facility for environmental protection, learn about environmental knowledge such as global warming and make environmental declaration.

After the visiting, the pupils gather in the big activity room where an attendant delivers interpretation on environmental knowledge through videos. When illustrating structure principle, the attendant provides assistance to guide the pupils’ experimental regarding environmental protection (such as compact fluorescent lamp).Finally, every pupil participating in the environmental education makes a hand-drawn picture on the subject of environmental protection, expressing his or her willing for environmental protection and bright imagination about environment on the earth. Moreover, the participant will receive a document given by Panasonic Center Beijing for acting as Little Environmental Guardian.

Students in primary and middle school are invited to visit Panasonic Center Beijing where various self-made equipments are prepared for them to carry out experimental under guidance. The students according conduct can take competition concerning the quality of the self-made products, such as cars respectively generated by motor, battery and solar power.

Various methods are carried out to make activity more interactive, including battery explanation, Q&A, personal experience and DIY. Consequently, children become familiar with the knowledge of battery principle, correct usage of battery and recycling for the purpose of environmental protection. Meanwhile, they could be given more opportunities to fully practice their hands and brains. After one and a half hours activity involving ‘thinking when listening’ as well as ‘do-it-yourself’, children can learn to make batteries and draw battery labels with their own hands.

The attendant mainly provides demonstration related to physical robot and uses video to describe a wide variety of robots and their function. Then, based on the instructor’s explanation on the structure of simple robot, the pupils can carry out assembly and programming activities under his guidance.

The activity is characterized by family participation, mainly focusing on the cultivation to encourage children in preschool and junior class to practice their hands more often. With assistance of parents, children can make recycled daily supplies out of waste cartons, newspaper and plastic bottles. Not only it brings children the delight during laboring, the hand-making activity also improves their own imagination and creativity.
