Speech processing and pattern recognition is a traditional research direction of PBJL, which has strong technical strength and accumulation. Based on this, PBJL is gradually extending to the broader fields of the sound classification, audio-video classification and retrieval and microphone array signal processing to meet the endless emergence of new products and the needs of new applications. In addition, PBJL takes the cooperation with domestic famous universities and famous hospitals, and utilizes its powerful signal processing technology expertise and in-depth study of hearing perception theory to strive to provide better technology and products for the hearing losers and to re-create the perfect sound world.

As for the activities in technical standards, the mobile communication team of PBJL cooperates closely with the wireless technology R&D center of Panasonic headquarters, which devotes to the proposal work for the wireless transmission technology research and standardization of the fourth generation mobile communication standard (3GPP LTE-Advanced). Over the past two years, in the multi-antenna technology and collaborative communication technology areas PBJL has made a large number of international patent applications, and has been actively participating in the 3GPP conferences and offering dozens of standardization proposals to RAN WG1 standardization working group.
