Panasonic Beijing Laboratory is the most important R&D department established by Panasonic R&D Center in Chinese mainland. Speech technology
Panasonic has a history of 25 years in developing speech recognition, speech synthesis and voice signal-processing technologies. Panasonic has established several research institutions in US, Japan and China focusing on speech technology, and is the holder of many patents regarding speech recognition and speech synthesis techniques. With these technical resources, Panasonic has successfully developed many speech application system such as multiple-lingual large vocabulary speech recognition system, the Chinese-Japanese translation system and a name and telephone number recognition and synthesis system used in mobile phones. With the strong belief of ideas for life, the Speech technology Development Group of Panasonic Beijing Laboratory is dedicated to not only the research in multiple lingual speech recognition, multiple lingual speech synthesis and voice signal processing techniques, but also the employment of the latest research findings in the development of mobile phones, home electronics and auto navigation systems.
Mobile communication
The Panasonic Beijing Laboratory is the only Panasonic R&D department focusing on the development of mobile communication technology in China. With our close cooperation with the Advanced Wireless Technology R&D Center affiliated to the Panasonic's headquarter, the Panasonic Beijing Laboratory is devoted to the research on the cutting edge technologies such as the core techniques used in the B3G/4G wireless communication systems, as well as the multi-antenna technique, channel encoding technique and OFDM etc.
The reorganization of traffic signs and signal lamp
In China, the traffic problems caused by the drastic increase of automobiles have attracted more and more public attention. Panasonic is one of the leading vendors in automotive electronics and intelligent traffic systems (ITS) domains. Closely cooperating with Panasonic Cooperate R&D Center, Panasonic Beijing Laboratory is devoted to applying image processing, computer vision and machine learning technologies in intelligent automotive electronics systems. It is expected to enable the development of high level image recognition technologies in automotive electronics fields.
