In order to support the Chinese policy of a technology-based country and to contribute to the societal development and higher living standards in China, Panasonic Group has conducted various research and development activities in the country.

Research and development bases have been established in Beijing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Taijin, Dalian and Hangzhou in an effort to develop products that suit the needs of Chinese customers as well as pursue research and development activities based on different regional characteristics. Digital network technology is being developed in Beijing; resident equipment and environmental technologies, in Suzhou and Shanghai; software, in Dalian; on-board machine, in Tianjian and household appliances, in Hangzhou.

In addition, Panasonic Group improves and consolidates its technical skills through joint research and development with Chinese universities and governmental research institutes and participation in the technical standardization process conducive to establishing technical specification and intellectual property right innovations.

In the future, the center will continue, in different regions of China, its research and development of products and technologies popular worldwide through increased cooperation with the Group’s research and development bases scattered around the world.
